Rosie O'Donnell Makes a Bold Appearance at the "Burlesque: The Musical" Premiere

Rosie O’Donnell recently turned heads when she made an appearance at the red carpet event for the premiere of "Burlesque: The Musical" in London. The well-known comedian, who now resides in Ireland with her son Clay, has been making waves with her dramatic weight loss journey, which some believe is connected to the drug Mounjaro.

The event took place on Tuesday, July 22, and marked a significant moment for O’Donnell as she showcased her new look to fans and media. Dressed in a gray blazer and black pants featuring graffiti-style artwork inspired by New York, she made a striking statement. The jacket had the city name repeated across it, while a red apple was prominently displayed on the chest. The pants also included similar designs, incorporating stars and other artistic elements. She completed the outfit with black boots, a black tee, and her signature glasses.

O’Donnell’s transformation comes after she shared her feelings about her weight loss on social media. In a post captioned “I can’t believe this is me now,” she used hashtags such as #mounjaro, #weightloss, and #bodydismorphia, hinting at the challenges and changes she has experienced.

Weight Loss and Mounjaro

O’Donnell's weight loss has been linked to Mounjaro, a diabetes medication that has gained popularity among celebrities for its weight loss side effects. In March, she shared a TikTok video where she hinted that her recent weight loss could be attributed to the drug. She mentioned that she had been on Mounjaro for her diabetes and that one of the side effects was weight loss. Additionally, she noted that she no longer has a chef, which she believes has contributed to her change in diet.

She also spoke about how she felt about her new size, sharing that she went shopping in Dublin to find clothes that fit better. “I’m one of those people who always had a weight issue, and now that I'm a size large — instead of an XL or a XXL — I find it shocking,” she said.

Dismissing Trump's Citizenship Threat

O’Donnell moved to Ireland earlier this year and is currently in the process of obtaining her Irish citizenship through her grandparents. She explained that the decision was the best for herself and her 12-year-old child, and she would only consider returning to the U.S. when she feels it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights.

Her outspoken criticism of former President Donald Trump has led to threats from the former leader, who claimed she is a “threat to humanity.” Trump reportedly stated on Truth Social that he was considering revoking her citizenship and suggested she should remain in Ireland if they want her.

However, O’Donnell dismissed the threat with a sense of humor, calling it part of a long list of threats from Trump directed at artists, activists, and celebrities. She told RTÉ Radio’s “Sunday with Miriam” show that she didn't take it personally but expressed concern over the way Trump's rhetoric has emboldened others.

A Bold Response to Trump

In a social media post following Trump’s threat, O’Donnell challenged the former president directly, daring him to try and revoke her citizenship. She posted on Instagram, “You are everything that is wrong with America. You want to revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey, with a tangerine spray tan. I'm not yours to silence. I never was.”

This response highlights her continued defiance against Trump and his administration, showcasing her strong personality and willingness to speak out against what she perceives as injustice.

A Longstanding Feud with Trump

O’Donnell and Trump have had a long history of conflict, beginning over two decades ago. Their feud started when she criticized him during a 2006 episode of “The View” for being the “moral authority” in a controversy involving Tara Conner, the Miss USA winner accused of underage drinking and drug use.

She called out Trump for his behavior, including leaving his first wife and having affairs, while claiming to be a moral compass for young Americans. Trump responded at the time by calling her a “woman out of control” and has since continued to target her in various social media posts.
